This sculpture is basically a "found" object, as it was discovered in a pile of firewood. I was attracted to the natural twisting, curving shape and the spalted pattern produced by fungal activity. I just enhanced the shape by grinding and sanding the rough areas and applied several coats of clear polyester resin.
